Abstract

The Ramayana Epic is made up of 7 parts of the story known as the Sapta Kānda. The second part of the story is called Ayodhyā Kānda, becomes the core part of the story of the Ramāyāna and is believed by Hindus to contain many ethical and moral values in it. Reflecting on this, the researcher is interested in studying more deeply about the story of Ayodhya Kānda. In this study, several problems were formulated, namely related to the nature of the moral message in the perspective of Hinduism, the Ayodhyā Kānda Ramāyāna story, and connecting the two to find the moral message contained in the story. Using research methods with qualitative research types, and literature studies, as well as using data analysis from Miles and Huberman, the results of this study indicate that the Ayodhyā Kānda Ramāyāna story contains many moral messages that are useful for life, including; mutual respect between children, daughters-in-law, and in-laws, the dangers of Lobha and Matsarya's uncontrollable nature, reflection of a son's obedience, reflection of a wife's loyalty, close kinship bonds, and finally an attitude that is not too ambitious to gain power. The moral message aims to provide guidance for readers to become better individuals.
