Abstract

Balinese culture is essentially based on the values of Hindu religious teachings. It upholds the values of balance and harmonization between humans and God (parhyangan), human relation with other humans (pawongan), and human relation with the environment (palmahan), which is reflected in the teachings of Tri Hita Karana (three causes of well-being). The most crucial thing in every religious ritual activity is not only something physically visible, but the philosophical values implied in it are also important. The existence of ritual activities in spiritual life is a medium or symbol to get closer to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa. In general, this article aims to describe, review and explain the philosophical values contained in the symbolism of Nini and their implications for the Hindu community, especially in Desa Pakraman Piling, Penebel District, Tabanan Regency.
