Latar Belakang Pelaksanaan Tradisi Hapantan Dalam Upacara Tiwah Di Das (Daerah Aliran Sungai) Kahayan
Abstract
Central Kalimantan is a very large area and rich in matural resources, flora and fauna, and olso rich in tradition, customs. These traditions are passed down from generation to generation by their ancestors. The existing traditions contain moral teachings that are still very relevant to today’s life. One of the traditions that still exsists today is the hapantan tradition. Which is a tradition of welcoming quests by the Dayak community, especially for the Hindu kaharingan community in the Kahayan watershed. The hapantan tradition is carried out in a tiwah ceremony. Hapantan is pasrt of a religion. This study discusses the tradition of welcoming quests (hapantan) seen from the religious concept proposed by Koentjaraningrat. This study uses a qualitative approach and the method used is interview, observation and literature study. Result; the background of the implementation of hapantan, basically is that every human being has a desire to help which is born from a religious emotion that bring humans to always be sacred or in accordance with religious guidnce
